Charters Towers newspaper founders Daniel and Xander Sumpton have purchased a local home with predictions of a ‘prosperous future’ for the town.

Mr Sumpton made the announcement of their acquired home on his Facebook account, where he made bold predictions for the coming times of The Towers.

“We are glad to finally be homeowners in Charters Towers,” he said.

“We believe the town has a significant and prosperous future much like its eventful past.

“Growing our family here will be a pleasure.”

The announcement by the prominent locals came amid lively events in town such as the 2024 Skidfest, the Charters Towers Motor Show & Swap Meet, and the 2024 Northern Beef Expo.

With large projects debuting at the local commercial precinct Goldtower, and many more events to be held within the year like the 2024 Charters Towers Show, which is predicted to have unprecedented success, local investment could be a very smart choice.
