Editor of the Charters Towers newspaper, Xander Sumpton said after a full year of publishing news, she looks forward to much more local coverage.

“I never get tired of being out there, getting photos, talking with people, and highlighting locals,” she said.

“We are so proud of getting local stories out to so many people.

“The success of our platform has been a dream come true and we look forward to many more years of news coverage for the town.

“We work as hard as we can for locals to make sure news is consistently published and read every single week.”

Founder of the Charters Towers newspaper, Daniel Sumpton said no expense has been spared to keep the newspaper functioning.

“We have interviewed locals thousands of times and been to thousands of events,” he said.

“Every single day we think about how to improve our already high-calibre content to the point where we even worked on the paper right before our wedding.

“We strive to have the best experience possible for readers.

“Just wait, because we have many more announcements regarding the paper to come.”

Upcoming announcements regarding Sumpton’s Gold Rush Gazette will be released in the coming months.
