To celebrate the Charters Towers newspaper's second anniversary, founder Daniel Sumpton emphasised the publication's vital role in supporting the local economy.
Mr Sumpton said the publication will continue to support the region with high quality reporting.
“Sumpton’s Gold Rush Gazette plays a crucial role in keeping locals and tourists up to date with what’s new and what’s coming up,” he said.
“As our newspaper continues after its second year of existence, local businesses and organisations benefit greatly from our unmatched local coverage.
“We will continue to direct locals and tourists toward where they can attend the biggest events, and where they can catch the greatest deals.”
Mr Sumpton also thanked locals for their support over the years for his publication.
“We are doing everything we can to make sure the great people who have supported us continue to get the best reporting possible,” he said.
“We thank them very much for their support.
“We started this publication as a small magazine, and it has grown to one of the most prominent publications in North Queensland.
“We will make sure that it continues to grow.”
