The sun is just setting as a crowd gathers at the front gates of the Pioneer Cemetery. They have arrived to watch 'Spirits of the Night', an evening of storytelling based on the lives of those that lived on the Gold Fields of Charters Towers in the late 1800's. The history of the 'residents' laid to rest here are mostly unknown, and this event is an opportunity for community members and visitors alike to piece together what life was once like on this land…
